Big Summer Temple Day

It took quite a bit of effort between soccer practices and Shakespeare, but I was able to carve out a time to do a mini temple day! It wasn't quite like the 12-temples-in-one day ultimate event from years ago, but it turned out good. We would roll dice at each temple to find out what things to take a picture of- a color, something on the temple, and a selfie. AND, Katelyn and Whitney got to go in and do baptisms at 2 temples!  Provo City Center and Oquirrh Mountain.  So that was pretty awesome, I wanted them to get to do 2 in one day! And of course we had treats to spice it up.
Here are the 5 kids at the Jordan River Temple.
Mount Timpanogos- a selfie with me to prove I was there!

Provo City Center: Whitney got her turn for a photo shoot, and I noticed this gorgeous stained glass over a door.
Draper Temple:

More Mount Timpanogos- I think it gets the best flowers award!
More pretty flowers and Oquirrh Mountain:

More Whitney with my Portrait mode:
Full view of Jordan River and Maris portrait.

my foot at Oquirrh Mountain, and the view!  You could see 2 temples from there.

The kids across the road from the construction site of the new Orem Temple!  And Kate's portrait.
Portrait of Owen at Mt. Timp, and more flowers.

And lastly, one more pretty one at Provo City Center.
We decided to skip Payson since we go there all the time, Saratoga Springs since it was too far out and not finished yet (so it would have been a construction pic like Orem), Lindon because it's just a bare lot so far, and the OG Provo temple, since we had just gone there in the Spring.  So it was a total of 6 temples in Utah County and southern Salt Lake County.  Not bad for a summer afternoon.

A Comedy of Errors!! SS’22

This show may be my favorite one Katelyn has been in!  It was SO much fun to watch, the excellent acting and subject matter made it very understandable for a Shakespeare production, and Katelyn had a lead role with GREAT people to act with and she did SO well!  She, and the whole show, were hilarious. The kids all loved it, we took Jayda and Xavier who are not used to theater and even they were totally absorbed as you can see! Owen, Xav, Maris, Jayda and Emma were so into it, they especially loved all the sword fights.

Katelyn with Brady, her master, Antipholus of Ephesus. She played his servant, Dromio of Ephesus.  They have gotten to act together a lot, and they did great this time too. Also you can see Liam in his Puck costume- he played the witch doctor like an essential oils salesman hahaha! and Michael, Rango, Dylan, and Corban as the soldiers of Ephesus.
Here was the show poster. They meshed in some scenes from Love's Labours Lost to include more characters in the show.  And here's Kate with her separated-at-birth twin Sean Treshman Bradford, Dromio of Syracuse.  They were perfect twins!!

Last moment of the show that first night, They sang a fun tavern song together to end it.
Katelyn and Sean had to hold hands and sit down together before the tavern song. And here they are in the bows:

This was my second favorite moment of the show. "To what end have you come?" "To a rope's end, sir!" with a big pleased smile, when it was not this master who asked her to buy a rope, but HIS separated-at-birth twin- Antipholus of Syracuse!
And Corban hiding behind Katelyn during a fight.
Katelyn and Hannah (the maid) trying to sneak away while their master argues with his wife (Phoebe).
and Kate with the kids after the show!

Kate, Sean, Clover and Hailey chilling between shows.
Katelyn forced into the middle of the argument, and shocked at seeing her twin for the first time.

Katelyn and Liam in his Father of the Antipholuses costume.

Katelyn and Phoebe, and Katelyn with sibs and cousins.
4th funniest moment of the show. Katelyn and Michaiah (A of Syracuse) arguing about instructions he supposedly gave her, but actually gave to her twin Sean.  After this he beat her with a fish from the fountain... hilarious.

Some goings-on at the door of the house, and the scene where the dad explains everything and they re-enact the storm that separated them all at birth (Katelyn's on the end of the log, with Karlie, Brady, Michaiah, Liam and Sean).

more of the re-enactment, and Sean saying he's the real Dromio.
Katelyn telling her side of the story,
Swearing to the truth of certain events, and then Phoebe and Clover hiding behind her during a swordfight.

On the left, my 5th favorite moment of the show- There had been some bread thrown around during the final fight.  Katelyn and her twin were supposed to be chillin in the background while the lovers resolved their story. Sean picked up a piece of bread and took a bite, then offered Katelyn a bite, and she took one!  I was dying! We were just coming out of masks on airplanes mode, and she was sharing bread onstage, haha.     And on the right, a sneak peek of the 3rd funniest moment of the show, when she and Brady were tied up and had to fight off the maids and the witch doctor, it was so great!
More twin fun
and more! They were just so cute.  and acted so well together.
Katelyn and Brady tying up the maids after they themselves got free.
Katelyn and Sean stealing the treasure with Annica!  And laughing at Dylan's antics upstage- he's Sean's brother!

More fighting- Katelyn attacking Liam with a serving spoon, (feather duster?) and fighting Danica.
More cute twin-ness!
Bows on the last night:
More of the 3rd funniest part of the show- when they came back in, she was up on his back with her legs kicking in the air, so funny!

Onstage after the last show, doing weird twin stuff,

One more shot of "to a rope's end sir" and with Phoebe again.
Closing night tavern song.
And last but not least, the funniest part of the show!! Katelyn had this whole monologue explaining why her "master" didn't come home to his wife (wrong master!) She grabbed 2 wet slimy fish from the fountain and used them as puppets to be her and Antipholus, it was SO hilarious, they whole audience was cracking up, and then on the left you can see, she started swinging the fish for emphasis to punctuate, and flinging water on the crowd!  It was the greatest comedic moment of her career, SO much fun!!

I had to grab all these still shots from the video I took.

Anyway, yay for Comedy of Errors and Summer Shakespeare in general.  What a fantastic opportunity and great way for Katelyn to spend a couple of weeks of her summer. Bless her wonderful teacher for making it happen!
