Thanksgiving in St. George, because, why not??

Even though it didn't end up being much warmer than at home, we welcomed the chance to go to St. George for Thanksgiving with the Murrays! And we discovered we haven't had Thanksgiving with them very many times!  It turns out we like different things to eat haha. But it's okay.  It was a really nice time.

We went to A Christmas Story, the Musical at Tuacahn, it was fun to get decked out for the occasion!

We enjoyed the fire pit and the pool!

The feast and the fruit turkey made by Whitney:

A couple of November pics I forgot: Whitney's team when we went to the BYU National CHampoinship game broadcast, and Emma climbing at the playground one day in her snazzy socks haha.

Emma looking Christmasy
Christmas Pajamas in St. George!
We had the Cravens over for swimming and pie the day after Thanksgiving!  They loved the color-changing pool light.  Maris, Lydia and Hazel.
Kate and the boys- Owen Ryder and Justin, and Whitney with Emma.

This was cute- while waiting and watching for the Cravens to come over, these 4 hung out by this front window watching bunnies hopping around in the yard for like an hour!  The house backs up to a golf course, which backs up to the desert, so we get to enjoy the wildlife!  Katelyn was dutifully doing homeworkduring this- she actually has homework this year because of the college classes she's taking. :)
good times.

Tis the night of Halloween......and other Fall Happenings

Get ready for a mishmash of Fall stuff!

First up, a panoramic of a beautiful sunrise over dry cornfields by the river trail.
On Murray Day Eric was feeling spontaneously nostalgic, so we went to BYU!  To the vent and the Art Museum and the big library window.  Started to convince Whitney that BYU is the best place to go to college. :)  Here's the girls at the MOA.  Murray awards were:  Microphone Murray, _________Murray, Map Murray,  Mentor Murray, and Monkeybar Murray!
One day Emma wanted to go hiking and we had no other plans....so we hiked up to the Cross!  I love being a stay-at-home mom so much!!  One of the biggest blessings of my life.

Emma is so cute and we went the long way this time and she did great. It was super windy on top but decent temperature the rest of the time- not as cold as it looks in these pictures!
Our pumpkins looking great on Halloween night!
Katelyn photo bombing my pumpkin pic haha
Maris' spooky ghost and Emma's spider web.
Whit, Owen and Kate's
When we trick-or-treated in our neighborhood, we ran into friends and the bigger kids went off with them.  So I got to go around with cute Emma.
With the beautiful sunset over in Old Mill neighborhood.
In costume by their pumpkins:

Side note- the Saturday before Halloween me and Maris did a little race in Salem. I rocked the 5k, first person to finish who wasn't a high schooler!  21 minutes.  And maris was awesome in the mile!  She took off and left me at one point!

She finished strong in under 10 minutes. And got this beanie as her race swag....and proceeded to wear it for a month straight haha.
At the ward Trunk-or-Treat!
Maris and Emma dressed as Anna and Elsa, and they found a little Olaf!!! the little Figeroa boy.
We did a Hogwarts trunk.  Whitney was a reindeer for halloween, hilarious.  Then we had Elsa, a Mad Scientist, a Camp Half Blood attendee (complete with huge sword she bought at the Shakespeare Competition in Cedar City), and Anna.
Whitney carved this awesome bat in a blue pumpkin!  So cool!  and Maris did this ghost almost completely on her own!

Katelyn had such a cute little yellow pumpkin, and Owen did a skull! (His hair is always so blond at the end of the summer!)

And Emma did more on her own than she ever had! She loved her yellow spider pumpkin.
As usual we had a nice day for carving.  But this time Halloween was also warm!  The warmest we have had in years!

I helped with Maris' class Halloween party- I brought all my Harry Potter Potions stuff and we went to town!!  (They were dressed as Greeks for the History Fair.)  It was super fun!!

Emma's cute preschool.  They did leaf-rubbing crowns. Haylee, Kallie, Emma and Korver
Owen's last soccer game the very end of October!  It was FREEZING but they played through the rain and had fun.

More panoramics of a beautiful sunrise on the river trail- this time with snow!

We went to the Marriott Center to watch the BYU women's soccer team play the national championship game on the big screen!   They lost in a shootout at the end, but it was a great game.  2nd in the country is pretty amazing.
This was in September maybe??  The first day they started digging the basement of the house behind us.  That view is gone now, it is SO sad.  But we are grateful for the 7 years we had it.  And we got lucky, the house behind us is one of the only 1-story houses on the whole street.  So it doesn't completely block our view of the mountains or the sky! I literally cried and called Eric immediately when they started putting the roof trusses on and I knew it would only be 1-story.  Anyway, farewell fields behind us!
