Memorial Day Weekend Plus!!

During the week of Memorial Day we:

Went and played pickleball

Went to a couple of Emma's T-Ball games,
She is very cute but baseball is SO boring!

Owen enjoyed reading in the hammock,
Katelyn and Whitney went to Youth Conference! Here was their schedule but I didn't get any pictures of them.  I was supposed to go pick them up, but on the way our van's alternator died and I had to get towed....it was a whole thing.  Basically I learned to listen to the Spirit- I thought I should turn around right out of Santaquin but I was like "no they need me to drive!" Well, it ended up they had enough drivers, and I wasted 2 hours and $250 getting stuck and towed. So...yeah. I won't do that again!
On actual Memorial Day, we went up to Logan to help Jenae and Connor move. It ended up being an awesome service opportunity for the kids! We stopped by the Logan temple at one point.
And yes we bribed the kids to help by promising them Aggie Ice Cream at Utah State after!
Owen helping Jenae with some Allen wrench duties.
Katelyn, Whitney and Eric doing their part.
Also Whitney got to drive the 20 minutes between apartments with Jenae and the chickens!!  Someone had to go with her to help keep them from hopping into Jenae's lap while she was driving haha.
Trying to help Connor and Jenae round up the chickens!
Carrying a chicken to the car, very brave Owen!  He and Maris and Emma helped a lot.  They carried lighter things and helped clean.
And rewind 2 days to the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.....when THIS happened!  Best day ever, skiing and swimming on the same day!!! What a cool and crazy weather year we had. There may never be another one like it, so I'm glad my skiers could enjoy it to the fullest!!
And also Emma wanted a picture in front of our pretty tree. :)

Early summer-

Just a short post to document our first pond day of the summer. When things finally warmed up a bit in late May we were just ITCHING to get outside!  So me and the 3 "littles" hit the pond.

And here's cutie Emma enjoying the early summer activity of reading in the hammock. It became a summer favorite when I moved the hammock stand under our neighbor's overhanging peach tree. :)

End of the school year performances

At the end of the school year, Katelyn, Owen and Emma all had awesome opportunities. Katelyn got to go with the whole cast of Tuck Everlasting to PERFORM ONSTAGE at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake!!  Here they are in that huge place, what an incredible experience!  The event was the Utah High School Musical Theater Awards.  Tuck was nominated for Best Musical-- top ten in the state--against all the big schools!  And Dylan was nominated for best Actor for the Man in the Yellow Suit and Dillon Ellis was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Marius in Les Mis.  They also were nominated for best Student Choreography and Lighting for Tuck.
So they got to go up and do their opening number, Live Like This, for all the other schools and the judges.  It was awesome. They didn't win, but Dylan won best actor and got to go to the Jimmy Awards in NYC to compete against winners from all the other states!
Katelyn is on the second row, 3rd from the Right.
Owen got to sing in the Blast- Show Choir's Spring show. Here are the cute Tyros doing their chant before their set. He's on the top left. And singing Revolting Children from matilda.
Dancing in Friend Like Me- He was so cute and sounded great.
Emma had her end of the year recital for Let's Play Music. She was so serious!  But did really well.

Her cutie BFF haylee, and sweet Mrs. Heather, her teacher.
It was owen's turn for the 5th grade Hope of America! Good times. He got to sit by his good friend Hannah, They are in blue on the 3rd row down. I watched them just chatting away for the entire 30 minutes we sat there before the show started haha!  Next pictures are the whole group flag, Owen doing the actions, and when they all shined their flashlights in the dark "One Little Light". I actually love Hope of America!  it's a little long but a good message.

(Side note- Owen got voted defensive MVP almost every game in the Spring!)  And here's the Fine Arts Assembly- Owen is standing between Kyndle and Rosie- two older and very nice girls.
More great dancing.
End poses.
One bonus of a rainy Spring. :)
I took a picture of this cute card Emma made for her kindergarten teacher, to give her on the last day.  Adorable.  And all too soon the last day of kindergarten was here! Emma agreed to wear the same dress her sisters wore for their graduations, it was so sweet.

We enjoyed our photo shoot on a FINALLY warm morning in mid-May!
And then it was time for Graduation!  Eric realized, a little surprisingly, that this was his first AND last kindergarten Graduation!  They always do it during the day, and I guess he had never made it happen to be there, sorry older kids!!  He figured he had better go since it was his last chance to go to one.
Also, Emma got to give the speech for her class-- she read it loud and clear and smoothly, she did great!!
The cutie!  And Grandma got to come!
Me and Eric with our baby Graduate! And cute Emma and Haylee.  Also Haylee and her mom made these candy Lei's for them!
Emma with the wonderful Mrs. Whitehead, we love her!
Haylee, Charlotte, Mabel and Emma.

This was Katelyn's last Improv Show of the year. They did it outside at the Pavilion and it was super fun.
They split into 2 teams and competed, it was hilarious. Here's Katelyn, Annica and Jacob doing the team salute. And their teammates Allie and Karly.
The whole Unstable Improv Troupe. So glad Katelyn is doing this, it's so much fun!! Nathan, Ben, Jacob, Marz, Karlie, Allie, Katelyn. And Clover, Allie and Xander on the ground.
This wasn't a performance, but Emma decided to try her first chapter book The Boxcar Children in the end of May. It was SO cute to see her laying around and reading every time I looked around. It took her the whole summer but she did end up finishing it!
This was the Fine Arts Awards Night.  Katelyn got an Academic award and the Most Positive Award for Drama!  Very cool.
And this wasn't a performance either, but one day when I brought Whitney home from Lacrosse, it had been super windy earlier and the yard was COVERED in pink flowers from the Locust tree, it was gorgeous!  So we had to take some pics.

Owen's 5th grade class got to learn a dance, El Pericon, for the Dual Immersion program. It was super cute.
More dancing with their bandanas, so cool.  And they also sang a song.
Thespian Awards Ceremony. It was 70's style, so Katelyn is in the back with a headband on. And then in the middle with the headband- I think this was the Presidency picture.
Lizzy, Allie and Katelyn handing out the points awards.  And Katelyn and Sean, (who dressed up as a 70-year-old LOL) got best actor and best actress for A Comedy of Errors (they vote on awards for all the shows from the past year)- for playing their twins role of the Dromios!  So funny.
And all that capped off the school performing year!
