Preschool 2nd Semester

Here's a collection of pictures I took of cute Emma and her friend Haylee that we did home-preschool with.

Oh and Owen and Maris having fun making snow monsters and rainbow creations with the leftover snow paint haha.

Emma and Maris wearing the dresses I made for K and W for Katrina's wedding 11 years earlier. :)
And preschool graduation!  Haylee's mom, my friend Shellee, went all out on these adorable hats and candy leis.  Emma had SO much fun doing preschool!  What a big girl she is!

Spring Soccer

First- the freaky gross epic bruise Whitney got from an elbow in a soccer game!  She was battling this tough forward the whole time. But the girl never scored! This was on about day 4? It proceeded to get more green and yellow for a few days, so crazy!

Once again Marcie took amazing pictures of the team.
Eric and Whitney and I are pretty attached to these girls!  There was a crazy couple of weeks around tryouts when we thought we were going to have to let some of the girls go down to the B team and it was heartbreaking!  Even though it wouldn't have been anyone who had been on the team for years- Eric says he will never cut those girls as long as they are still committed. He cares about them too much and they are too much a part of the team.  Anyway we ended up being able to keep everyone and it was such a relief!

Maris the little cute-face runner girl finally started to "get" soccer by doing Junior Shooters. When she did city soccer for 3 years, she just ran happily around and played with her teammates.  But this season she realized that she could score, beat people and stop them from scoring, spread out from teammates and try to get a pass, etc. It was SO fun to see. Here she is stopping a goal, and posing all sweaty after a game- she worked hard!

She is in the orange Pennie on the right here.
and again in orange taking the ball down to shoot.

Oh and insert here- random pictures from Springtime- Emma about to fall off her bed in her sleep:
Whit had a balloon stuck to her face for a while by static!
The kids got out the slip n slide when it was maybe 60 degrees haha
And Owen had a good Spring soccer season.  He decided to try out for Club though, because it's just annoying to play with people who don't care about soccer.
Here he is in the middle in gold, and on the right in blue.  He has decided he likes to play defense.

Also we went to a couple of cousin's soccer games, and Emma few in love with their fluffy puppy named Rolo!
Here's Owen's team:
Maris with some teammates on their last day:
And Whitney and Eric with the team at their last Spring game.  They finished in 5th place (out of 10) in Division 1, which was really good for their first season of being in that division!

A chill Spring Break

One of the most exciting things about April was a return to in-person Primary!  After a year of teaching primary to my kids at home, I really appreciated the Primary organization of the church.  That time of getting to teach them extra myself was precious, but I'm grateful to be back. Emma was over the moon to finally start sunbeams, and Maris sure enjoys being the big sister of a little primary kid- walking her to class and such. They had to wear masks the first month or so, but then we got to stop that.

Owen being generous and letting the girls play with his Legos with him.
We hiked the Y! These 4 were PRO.  Even Emma made it all the way up without me carrying her one time!! I was shocked, I had mentally prepared myself to carry her at least half the way.  We took more breaks that the other kids, but still made it!

Awesome little hikers!!

Our house with the trees in bloom.
Emma saying goodbye to her cute ice skating teacher.
More trees in bloom!

And the pretty magnolia bush with the mountains in the background. Pretty soon there will be a house and fence back there, so I wanted to get this picture while I could.

Maris had a very low-key recital for her 2nd year of Let's Play Music.  She loved her small class and her teacher, Ms. Heather.
Whit and I got to do the food-handing-out service that I had done with Maris a few weeks before.  It was great weather and we enjoyed it.

We really didn't do much for Spring Break, but we got to relax and that was great.

Easter

Easter bunny day :)

Kate wanted to sleep in, so she did her hunt later and I apparently didn't take pictures!

Maris SPRINTED out ahead and got a ton of eggs in the city hunt! Emma had fun too but Eric was with her while I took Maris.

Here's the ones they dyed:

Owen made a titanic egg!

Here's Katelyn's eggs, man I did a bad job getting pictures of her!

Whitney's super cool eggs:
Maris's super cool eggs, my favorite was the music eggs with the red, yellow blue chords, and the note bugs.
Easter Sunday these 3 dressed up real cute COVID-style= shoeless!  It was our week to do Zoom church haha.

The best part of this was the comparison to Owen and his OTHER 2 sisters wearing these dresses when he was the baby, cuties!  Maris and Emma have loved and worn these dresses WAY more than Kate a and Whitney did actually, so that's fun for me :)
sweet kids.
