Halloween

We had a beautiful day for pumpkin carving a few days before Halloween, so we got it done!

Kate's 2-face pumpkin

Notice the shorts, bare feet?

Well the VERY NEXT day we had THIS!  Several inches of snow!

By Halloween it was still cold but at least the sun came out.

I couldn't get over Katelyn's awesome red hair! She made a great Black Widow.
Maris and Emma were adorable as Captain America and Captain Marvel!
Kate made these awesome homemade guns and holsters.

And we found Thanos (Brother Ihli) at the ward party!  It was awesome!
This is what Maris wore to school, she was supposed to dress in the traditional dress of someone from the 7 continents.

Owen was a detective from the war of 1812--a very loose interpretation of the theme lol.  And Ant-Man!

Eric was Steve Rogers, I was Supergirl, and Whitney was a very cute Megan Rapinoe!  She found the USA jersey on the internet for cheap.
The kids had fun trick-or-treating all over the place, Whit with friends and the rest of the kids together.  Maris stayed out late for her first time!  It was freezing but fun.

Kid pics

I had a great idea for a picture taking spot in the fields behind our house, (while we still have easy access to them!) so one evening in October there had been a storm so the air was really clear and the sun was coming out from behind some clouds and I could tell the light was going to be PERFECT so I took each of the kids outside real quick to take some pictures with Eric's phone in portrait mode.  They turned out awesome!  Now I just wish we had gotten a family one so I could put it on my wall!
Anyway here are my beautiful kids:
Cutie Emma.  After her first pics we started holding up something to filter the light, but we couldn't get her to take any more by the sunflowers.

Cute Maris by the sunflowers that are as bright as her spirit!

 And then these pretty pics.

Owen didn't want to be by the flowers, and he refused to trek across the muddy field with me (it was really muddy!  So he has different backgrounds than everybody else.

 Such a cute gap-toothed boy!

And I loved the light on these ones, and the genuine smiles, but the popeye gene was coming out pretty strong so I didn't print them. :) Such a handsome kid.
katelyn's pictures were the easiest to take, like literally 2 minutes, 2 poses, done.  She's awesome haha.

And so grown up and beautiful!

Whitney was so surprisingly into modeling!  It was fun!  I didn't tell her to do anything, she just kept striking poses, it was awesome!  These first 3 I didn't have portrait mode on, so you can see how gorgeous the mountains were looking.  But Whitney's pretty smile is even better!

Then I turned on portrait mode and got all these gems:

 so cute!

Yay!  I was so happy I was able to make these pictures happen spur-of-the-moment. And all it cost was 4 ruined muddy pairs of sandals lol.
