The Snowman

Our snow here is usually so powdery that it cannot be packed into a snowman.  So when we get a really wet snow we HAVE to take advantage of it!! This time we worked together and made the BIGGEST snowman we have ever made!
The kids have gotten pretty good at rolling snowballs; all I did was help lift them.  That one above took all of us using all our strength to get it up!
I had to document the awesome teamwork and lack of fighting going on!  Whitney and Owen can be so great together when they have a common goal. :)

Bad picture of Maris, but she was eating carrots that I brought out for snowman noses and learning how to walk in snow.  She would take these funny big steps, it was so cute.
Here they are with the masterpiece!  They went on to build a Mom and a couple of kids before they lost steam and went inside for lunch. :)

And then the funniest thing happened-- we had some warmer temps (like 38* haha) and rain so the snowman started to shrink, but it kept freezing at night so he just slowly tipped and tipped!  I asked katelyn to pose for this picture and she nailed it!

He just kept bowing lower and lower as the days went by, and now everyone wanted a picture with it!

funny kids!

Here is the Leaning Snowman at his lowest and thinnest before a storm finally toppled him haha. :)
Just a fun memory I wanted to preserve.

First day of Sunbeams!

Owen finally got to graduate from nursery (when he was almost 4- those January birthdays!!) and start Sunbeams!!  He was pretty excited. Cutie.
He is a model student, obviously.  He loves the lessons and learning all the songs!
Maris, on the other hand, obviously hates nursery now that owen's not in there!  She cried a little even when he was in there for the first month when she started, so now that she is alone she FREAKS out when we drop her off.
So her refusal to take these pictures was kindof perfect. :)  (note: by March she is getting a little better.  she only cries for like 15 minutes and then settles down/falls asleep and wakes up happy 30 minutes later.  Baby steps.  The downside is then she doesn't nap at home.... oh 11 o'clock church....we mostly love you though.)
And Whitney wanted a picture of her first day of CTR7. :)

To blog or not to blog.... a difficult question.

I've been trying to decide whether or not to keep blogging.  No one reads it, so it's mainly just for our little family, to keep a record.  So I'm trying to decide if this is still the best/most time efficient way to do it.  Since I end up posting on facebook/instagram anyway so that family and friends can see things.  But I want to have a way to print out a physical copy, and I want to be able to monologue/describe in detail in a way that doesn't work so well for facebook and instagram.  So.... I think I will carry on. :)
