This is the Place Monument/ Heritage Park

So while Eric was gone at Scout Camp, one fun thing we did was go up to This is the Place monument, and we paid to go into the pioneer village.  It was so cool!!  We got there only a couple of hours before it closed, but we could have stayed a lot longer, there were so many fun things to do and see.
Here are the kids in front of one of the pioneer houses:
They got to go on a pony ride:

Owen rode too and loved it but we didn't get a picture until after.
The Indian Village was REALLY cool, I learned a lot actually!  Here is Owen trying to grind corn.  We also made arrowhead necklaces.
Then we got to ride on a cute little train!
We were the only ones on the train because the park was about to close.
Owen was SO happy, he loves trains!

Owen walking by the cultural center and a cool eagle.
The kids with the monument in the background, and Kate with only one shoe!  She got a bad blister and walked around on one sandal the rest of the time. :)
We will definitely go there again!

  1. So cool! I want to go there! I want to do like the full church history tour, but over the course of many years because traveling that far and for that long isn't fun. so one trip at a time. starting in Palmyra and ending at the SLC temple. *sigh* dreams.
