Whitney's favorite new hobby...

....is apparently creating I Spy pictures! Increasingly over the last few weeks I have been noticing various bags, boxes, buckets, baskets and backpacks scattered throughout the house and filled with a wide assortment of things. It wasn't like whoever had filled them had just dumped in whatever they could reach- it appeared there was meaning in these containers. Each would contain 2-5 each of several different kinds of toys, like the person was trying to get a good variety. Occasionally the items would be spread out around the container, but most often they remained inside, like a well-packed bag waiting for the right moment (of boredom?) to come along. Like the bag-packer was preparing for the time when she would find herself walking along in a certain part of the house and all of a sudden think "I'm so bored I'll never make it down to the toy room, I'd die trying!" and then "Oh! What's this?? I convenient bag of assorted toys! Just what I needed!" The last few days I started paying closer attention and I've managed to catch the culprit in the act and send her back to the toy room with her collections so they don't get spread everywhere. It does make for exciting cleaning though, it's like she made the bags specially as a cleaning challenge: "How fast can you put away these 14 different items stuffed into a bag??" Especially when all the containers the items SHOULD be in, are filled with other toy varieties and scattered throughout the house! It's still so funny to me that I don't consider it a problem yet. Even though it happens 3 or 4 times a day now. :) I guess it just means that my little Whitney is going to turn out like me- carrying everywhere a diaper bag full of crayons, snacks, coupons, and anything else we might need. Love that little girl. And I'm sure she got the idea originally from Katelyn. :)

So can you find in the above picture: a dinosaur, a Mickey Mouse "flid" (what Kate calls a small frisbee for some reason), a cow, a glow bracelet, 2 blocks, Woody, a ball, a beaded necklace, several Littlest Pet Shop animals, and James the train!

PS a july and august catch-up post and a wedding post are soon to come!

  2. isn't this the way children "clean" their room? Jenae's drawers must be the ultimate I spy game.
