Always the first event of the year! But actually I'm starting with this funny picture from camping last fall. Whitney took it and I just got it from the kids phone, so I wanted to throw it in here.
I made him a giant ice cream sandwich cookie for his actual birthday- since his party was a couple of days later.
Owen's favorite present was definitely his Lego Millenium Falcon from Grandma, the biggest Lego set he has ever had!
He wanted a Minecraft birthday party, it turned out fun!!
I made the cake to look like a block cake from the video game....
First the kids made special swords. This is Cole, Hunter, Owen and Abby.
Also Kindrick! In front of our backdrop.
Minecraft obstacle course, obviously!!
Then we did a Minecraft treasure hunt, where they had a complete a challenge at each clue stop, and collect Minecraft resources along the way. here they fished:
Figured out a coded message,
made fishing poles,
looked through legos for a prize,
broke open "brick" boxes to find TNT (red licorice)
chipped through ice to find "gold"
Dug up silver out of the ground,
and had a tnt piñata!
Had snacks and cake:
And Ollie came late!
going through the nether portal with creeper balloons!
Final picture!
It was a fun party, and possibly his last themed party! Very bittersweet. It is so fun but so much work to do them.
We love Owen!!
