Owen Goes Double Digits

 Owen decided to have his 10th birthday party at Nickelmania. It turned out fun, but not super unifying since the kids were spread all over most of the time. But Owen enjoyed it!!

Owen's party was the Saturday before his birthday. This was the night before his birthday- I made him a big ice cream-cake-cookie-ice cream cake! We celebrated that night because Eric and I were leaving early the next morning for his work retreat in Cancun!! I felt terrible, but he was pretty chill about it. We did lots of stuff to make the day before special.

It was a fun party. And just fun to celebrate Owen. He is so fantastic. He is so smart and responsible and  hilarious. And he is making strides in becoming more flexible. He wants to do the right thing and he offers to help me often. He loves to cook and bake and read and ride his bike. And obviously play with Legos. Maris and Emma adore him, and they are so lucky he still loves to play all the kid stuff with them! He and Katelyn love to hang out together and talk science. And he and Whitney are finding more common ground. He and Eric like to geek out over cars together and watch Discovery or History channel shows or documentaries for fun. He and I probably bond the most over music, and talking through problems and worries. Owen at age 10 is pretty great!! I'm SOOO grateful to be his mom!!

I'm starting on the blog for this year!!!!!!!

Here’s some tidbits from our January. 

This was the moment I discovered the house being built behind us would be only 1 story. They were putting on roof trusses instead of another level! I cried with joy and called Eric immediately. We are so grateful to not have a house towering over us!

New Years Eve game night fun! In case I forgot to post last year.

Classic preschool activity! Korver, Emma, Haylee and Kallie. They stayed out doing this for much longer than I thought they would, I was freezing!
