The girls have no memory of being on planes when they were little, so our trip to Hawaii was like their first plane ride! It was especially unique because we had to be at the airport at like 4am! But they were all chipper and excited:
We were on all our flights with Elizabeth and Kjarom, they were so helpful and fun! Actually we also shared a condo with them and a rental car with them too, and we had great times. Which makes it even sadder that they just moved to California!! Sniff, sniff, tear, tear. Seriously. We will miss our super fun aunt and uncle living close by in Orem.
We unfortunately had a super long layover in LA, but the girls passed the time fairly well. Here they are playing "War", the only card game they know how to play. :) Owen wanted to wander the airport stopping at every window to watch the airplanes. "BIG, airplane!" he kept saying. He still talks about airplanes and airports a lot! It's like when we went to Hawaii when Katelyn was 2 and all she wanted to do for months after that was play "Hawaii". :)
On the second plane, to Maui, before takeoff I let Owen stay out of his carseat (thank goodness for that thing though- he slept for most or all of EVERY flight in his seat! He NEVER would have done that on my lap, the little squirm-o.) and he didn't want to sit with me, he wanted to sit with "Keet".
All of us except for Mary, when it was time to go get on the plane to go home!
Goodbye, beautiful hawaii!
This flight was crazy too, it was a red-eye that left at 10pm. So the kids were a little tired. Here's Kate and Owen resting on a bench before our flight.
And the next day we made it to Utah at about 11 am! We were wiped out but happy to be home. Until the next day when we wished we could go back haha.
your kids are all perfect ages for this trip! hardly any hassle!
