Too many pictures!! But it WAS one of the most exciting days, and definitely the most action-packed and adventurous day of our LIVES! So I guess it's worth documenting.
This was part of Eric's work retreat to Mexico the end of January- more about that later. For this post:
We went on an excursion to this adventure park with 4 other couples, and decided to buy their picture package. It was a great decision, because there were over a hundred picture spots throughout the park, and we had tons of fun as a group and as as couples posing for them!
So this is the day backwards: The last thing we did was the river hike. Oh I should mention, the majority of the park is built in these underground rivers and caves. In the US this would definitely be a national park and we would never have gotten to do half the things we did for safety and preservation reasons! But in Mexico anything goes haha. So most of the things in these pictures were natural features, so amazing!!
So the river hike. There were tunnels and slots, slides and bridges. It was way fun!
Before that, we did the 4x4 expedition. We took turns driving the 2 courses, it was WAY more fun to drive than to just ride haha!
And underground of course- the theme of the day
Goofing around with all the signs. Oh and yes we had to wear those orange helmets the entire time. Except while we ate at the delicious lunch buffet. Seriously it was better than our hotel's buffet.
Walking through the caverns to the next activity- there was a lot of that.
This was the river paddle. It was kind of slow and boring and awkward to do. But we made it fun by trying to race past each other any chance we got! Here's us with Ben and Andrea trying to catch us-
Jessica and Josh ahead of us-
us with Emily and Nate behind
Us before we passed Ben and Andrea
More walking through the caverns between things.
The river swim!! was my favorite. and not just because of this kissing picture haha. It was 30 minutes of swimming through these beautiful caverns!
with Nate and Emily. Love them!
More fun times traversing the caverns.
And here's the first thing we did- zip lining! It was super fun going over such beautiful jungles. And in hindsight it felt very safe compared to the ziplining we did in Mexico 6 weeks later with the kids LOL!
Me with Nate and Emily together behind me- Eric and I never got to go together because we were too "big" haha
Yes we got to climb that tower with the giant Mexican flag on it to get to the next zipline. And several similar towers! And other fun hanging bridges too. Seriously such an adventurous day.
Side note since I apparently can't move this picture- here we are at the Heart- the center of the park underground. It had a kind of creepy heartbeat sound going constantly!
A couple more out of order adventure pics. Such a beautiful place!
And lastly a couple of pictures from our hotel beach. More to come about this trip!
