Daaa (dad), woo-woo (dog or other animal), mama, no, ju (juice), szh (shoes), go, done, mah (more), MAA (mine), ba! (ball, always said excitedly), bum (she pats her bum or tummy haha), nose, mouse, and probably more I can't think of at the moment.
Her favorite books are Pajama Time (which she will bring over to you and dance!) and The Doggie Book. She loves lots of books though! She loves to play peek a boo (where's Emma??) and chase and hide and seek and go outside. She loves babies and animals and kisses toy versions and pictures of them. for kisses she puts her lips on you and says "mmm-ah" it's the cutest thing ever. When she's hungry she points inside her mouth or sticks several of her fingers in her mouth to emphasize that something needs to go in there haha.
She is just finishing nursing at 15 months, wow! She has been sleeping through the night since 12 months hallelujah. She is transitioning from two naps to one, rough. She has 12 teeth so she can eat pretty much anything, but her favorite food is BEANS haha. and cheese. We all adore her and I'm just so so grateful every day that I got to do this all again!! Having a baby brings so much joy to our family. She diffuses tense situations all the time by doing something cute, and it helps us get over hurt feelings or annoyances pretty fast. We will miss having a baby around here but toddlers are adorable too!
Here are some pics of her last 6 months.
She loves her baby cousin Spencer!
She was doing this funny bubble blowing thing for a couple of weeks and we got it on video!
In February Eric and I took her to San Diego with us for partner meetings for LEI! It was a fun 3 days! Thankfully Mary watched the other kids for us.:)
cute beach baby!
Here's a video of some of her first steps! back in February!
these are out of order but I'm too lazy to move them, so....
Spring break camping trip to Arches and Canyonlands!
Back to January. Emma learned to pull herself up to stand and play with the dishwasher!
She fell in love with baby dolls around this time! 9 months old.
She started eating more and more food in her chair.
Then in January Jenae came home from her mission, and I took Emma and flew to see her! I hadn't been there when any of my other 4 missionary siblings came home, so I wanted to take my last chance and do it!
It was so awesome and worth every penny.
Emma got to see Grandpa Jamie's farm for the first time!
And visit great-grandparents.
It was so wonderful to tag along with Jenae for her first day and a half home and hear all her stories and all her awkward english! Sadly Grandma was in the hospital and pretty confused. :( But we sang to her and she liked that.
Emma didn't love her first time sledding.
All our family's feet!
hanging out with Grammy when they came in February.
She learned to walk with her walker and loved it!! for like 2 weeks until she learned to walk for real!
Playing with Maris. :)
back to the San Diego trip in February! I ran 10 miles with her at Mission Beach while Eric was in meetings. I fell in love with the area and made plans to come back!
she hated the sand though lol.
We had fun touring the midway- before she could walk...
She finally learned to love baths after hating them for months-- when Maris asked for measuring cups to play with! She loved it and has been fine ever since.
Discovering "outside" on a warm day in March.
last day before she turned one! I cuddled my baby for extra long. :)

Instagram post about april/may:
This little girl. In the last six weeks she has grown up so much! She has gotten two new teeth, learned about eight words (at 12 months she knew zero!), she started loving books and now demands/begs to be read to constantly, (and who can resist a cute baby walking up to you with a book going “eh! eh!” Or backing into your lap with a book!) she loves outside and has started running away from me in public places! I have never had a kid do that! She is also really good at stealing my keys/wallet/phone; see top left picture. The others are falling asleep on a run, her first ponytail, and the way she greets Maris every morning, it is adorable. It has been one of the busiest six weeks of my mom life, and Miss Emma has taken the opportunity to grow!
And last but not least, saying goodbye to Mallorie when Melissa and Karl moved to Texas! It was so cute but also sad that mallorie learned to say Emma on the very day they moved! We miss our cute little cousin. :)
Yay for Emma.
